The Single-Payer Legislative Battle Begins!
Healthcare-NOW! has been advocating for HR 676, single-payer health care for nearly 5 years. We believe health care is a human right and there should be no barriers due to ability to pay, job status, citizenship, or age. Our work is culminating at this historic moment in health care reform to effectively influence federal legislation. Healthcare-NOW! is working closely with an alliance of leading national groups for single-payer: Physicians for a National Health Plan, California Nurses Association, and Progressive Democrats of America. Healthcare-NOW! has chapters and activists in nearly every state in the Union. Right now, our focus is on getting all 90 CoSponsors signed on to HR 676 in the 111th Congress and coordinating more national days of action around the country to tell the federal legislators loud and clear: Single payer now!
