I hate thinning, as with my arugula, partly because it seems wasteful, but mostly because I have some sort of physical aversion to it (thinning feels like "Don't pick at it!").
So my question:
Suppose I just use scissors to trim all the seedlings I don't want down to the roots. Any downside?

That should work for most things.
You can also transplant some of the seedlings if they aren't too close together and you have space elsewhere.
sometimes things collide in my mind in an odd way....

I found the YouTube, and then read this "Common Household Remedies" request. "I hate thinning..." I know, I have a weird sense of humor.
Heh- (edit) realized I am asking you to make odd associations. For a bit of fun. That's all.
Who knows, maybe that's it!
Somehow, the sheer multiplicity of thinning makes the inside of my skull itch. And unwarranted intensity of feeling is always something to consider.
