Stupidest career "progressives" on the face of the earth
Primary tabs
Kevin Drum presents this chart:

Drum interprets:
What we have isn't a spending problem. That's under control. What we have is a problem with Republicans not wanting to pay the bills they themselves were largely responsible for running up.
No no no no no no. What we have is an Obama problem. What the chart shows is that Obama's not a Keynesian. In the fast of the worst economy since the Great Depression, Obama actually cut spending. With the results that Keynes (and the MMTers) predicted: The economy is in the toilet, millions of DISemployed are still suffering, losing their homes, losing their health care, committing suicide -- and Obama, the Fucking Democrats, and career "progressive" shills and enablers like Drum cheerfully threw them under the bus.

Re: Stupidest career "progressives" on the face of the earth
Kevin Drum has made a career out of being absolutely and thoroughly conventional in his analysis, and hence thoroughly wrong.
Thoroughly conventional and thoroughly wrong ...
... which naturally means he's a big success in political blogging and works for Mother Jones.

And what, exactly, is the point of presenting a graph showing per capita expenditures, rather than just straight expenditures? It's not like the USG is spending $15,500 on each of us. Most of my share, and yours too I imagine, goes to the military-industrial complex. What a meaningless metric. Pure hackery, imho.

"Federal+State+Local" doesn't show plain Federal.
And how much of the up for W and down for Obama is Iraq & Afghanistan?
Overall, this gets a 'U' for Useless.
Re: Stupidest career "progressives" on the face of the earth
the success of the conventional wisdom machine is that we have been debating spending since the Nixon administration, rather than the well being of the American people, which is now a side issue.
