A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. We encourage a clash of ideas, and do not encourage a clash of persons.

there was on point going forward with popular music.
So that's why I missed Public Enemy. Damn.
[ ] Very tepidly voting for Obama [ ] ?????. [ ] Any mullah-sucking billionaire-teabagging torture-loving pus-encrusted spawn of Cthulhu, bless his (R) heart.
With re-releases, DVDs, etc. It feels like something comes out weekly. "The Future is Unwritten", the Strummer biopic by Julien Temple, is the most recent DVD, and it's on my shortlist to get. (Saw the movie in a theater, and it was awesome. Bawled like a baby. Oh!)
I'm a sucker for absolutely all of it, even the special-ed "London Calling" audio CD with the "bootleg" CD of outtakes and the DVD of grainy black and white footage.
I think 1982 just dovetailed with me being 19 years old, and there really were no acts that shook me after the way some had managed to in my youth (except Nirvana), which I think goes for just about everyone who gets to a certain age.
I hope you got to see Strummer performing with the Mescaleros in 1999(?) and after. Just stunning.
