Cheeto-land off an running on more conspiracies

intranets's picture

UPDATE -- Well the censors or author have deleted the posting since I finished writing this, but it did have 71 comments

The newest Palin conspiracy is based upon a newspaper article published in the Sitka Daily Sentinel, July 2, 1984

Miss Palmer [ie representing Palmer, AK], or Christina Christopher-Taylor, was named as first runner-up. She is a lifelong Alaska resident.

The logic is this. Small local paper [1] says that Christina Christopher-Taylor was first runner-up, ergo Palin MUST BE A LIAR. ([1] SDS is one of Alaska's seven daily newspapers, with a circulation of almost 3000 readers)

Such sound wingnut cheeto logic is unstoppable in the face of the feeding frenzy of baby conspiracies.

Of course, that would mean that no one has caught this trickery in the Gov. race or even wikipedia (uh oh, is that citations I see there) or how about a press release by Miss America organization. It must be a global conspiracy to pad the resumes of third rate beauty contestants because everyone know that "first runner-up" status gives them political might.

One interesting thing I did see in that article was:

"A Texas state pageant has over 60 (80?) contestants, compared to Alaska's 16 (18?)"

Don't they know that getting pregnant out of wedlock at age 17 is really, really bad, unless you are Barack Obama’s Mother!

And don’t they know that Obama is vetted because he has been campaigning for 18 months. All Sarah Palin did was govern Alaska for 24 months!

And don’t they know that being a Senator from the really, really big state of Delaware is far more important than being the Governor of that puny little state Alaska!

As to what the next 'scandal' is going to be for Governor Palin? Maybe, it will be a former classmate saying that she cheated on an Algebra test, or that she talked about Becky behind her back while pretending to be her friend.

about Palin quitting. Just saw it over on FDL, for pity's sake.

I suppose, great. Now we can make our own reality, too.

Anyone know if Ron Paul is speaking in Minneapolis? At least he wants to euthanize the empire, even if McCain and Obama don't.

[ ] Very tepidly voting for Obama [ ] ?????. [ ] Any mullah-sucking billionaire-teabagging torture-loving pus-encrusted spawn of Cthulhu, bless his (R) heart.

The only way I think she'll quit is if Democrats/SCLM make life a living hell for her daughter. Because so far, I haven't seen anything that would make her unacceptable to the GOP base and that's what McCain cares about. These attacks on her family may end up helping her by creating a backlash, especially if they keep having such sexist overtones (I don't think you can call it undertones when they don't even attempt to hide it). I don't think it's going to win liberal women to her side, but we'll find out exactly how good a politician she is. If she's the person Dobson thinks she is, she'll find a way to turn this into something that rallied GOP and independent women to her. I suspect we'll find out later this week.

rises to the level of the adorable "weird uncle" variety. And adorable weird uncles can't be divisive he-bitches. But, if we can make our own reality I say we start calling Paul a divisive man/he-bitch.

to speak at Republican Convention according to Amy Goodman this am. Seems he was banned because he would not recant on his Iraq/Afganistan policy. And he only finished 2nd or 3rd in a number of states in the Repub primary.
