Quick and yummy!
Strawberry Shortcake Trifle
1 white cake or angel food cake
1 small container frozen whipped topping
1 small package pudding (I like cheese cake flavor)
1 cup milk
2 lbs strawberries
2-4 Tbsp sugar
Mix 1 cup of milk and pudding mix, fold in the whipped topping. Slice the strawberries and sprinkle sugar over them. Adjust the sugar so the strawberries are pretty sweet. tear or cut the cake into 1" pieces.
Layer into a glass bowl:
cake pieces, a single layer of stawberries, then top with whipped topping, repeat layers. The number of layers will depend on the shape of your bowl.
The ingredients go on sale quite often and this will work with any berries, just sweeten the berries to get a thin syrup that will soak into the cake a little.
One really great thing about this recipe is that it is very good made with angel food cake, light whipped topping and non-fat milk.
