If you have "no place to go," come here!

As soon as you think of the "pragmatists" promoting the chatter on "public option" (or "plan") as bartenders at a sports bar*, everything falls into place.

Things weren't supposed to turn out like this. But I don't know what the alternative might be.

NOTE * Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I remember Abbie Hoffman ripping Jann Wenner for what he called co-opting the spirit of the movement, and cashing in on it via RS. Anything organic like this will start out as an undifferentiated mass, and included in it will inevitably be a certain number of climbers, grabbers and wannabees. They go legit soon enough and it's not useful to burn too many cycles mourning the loss. What's left is worth celebrating, and that's enough for me.
