VL Talks to OccupyBoston

VastLeft has posted the first installment of videos he shot from OccupyBoston on his site. Not surprisingly, Part I is a great vid. Excellent citizen journalism!

(My apologies if someone has already posted on this, but I didn't see anything when I looked around. Ah well, it deserves to be posted more than once anyway!). Read more about VL Talks to OccupyBoston

Dr. Socks' emergency

What Violet said

Tags:

Yup:

Femaleness is not some grotesque trait to be mocked; it’s not some character flaw; it’s not some weirdo political stance that is ripe for ridicule. And if you can’t criticize a woman’s politics without mentally subjecting her to the porn-film/inflatable-doll/nutcracker treatment, then you’re a goddamn sexist twit.

The same goes for age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, weight, and other personal dimensions that ought never be used to diminish someone's legitimacy as a person. Read more about What Violet said

This is a decidedly different public position for the guy who said, on the campaign trail:

If OBL's demise is a sea change, what will it change?

Tags:

The tenor of the immediate reaction to news that U.S. forces have killed Bin Laden shows an America deeply thirsty for closure not only for the 9/11 attacks but for other miseries and fears of the early 21st century.

On social networks, one sees platitudes implying or outright stating that everything America has done in the wake of 9/11 has been worth it. It's being hailed as a triumph by and for Bushists and Obamists alike. The zeitgeist seems to be "It's all good. USA, USA!" We're all jingoists today. It's always April Fool's Day when FDL writes about HCR

Tags:

Even at this late date, the completely undefined a|the "public option" is written about there as if it meant something concrete (other than in the sense of a concrete block used to deep-six single-payer discussion and awareness).

Once again, where are the answers to these six simple questions? Read more about It's always April Fool's Day when FDL writes about HCR
