Mediare for All

Health care, why can't we do that?

Mike Dennison: How did reform happen elsewhere?

And finally, in Canada, its system of government health insurance for all started in one corner of one province — Saskatchewan — in the mid-1940s and slowly spread across that province and then the country as citizens saw how it worked. It didn't become fully established everywhere until the mid-1960s.

Which brings us back to America, 2009, and our own health-care path. ...

...Why would we keep health insurance tied to employment? Almost nobody likes it.

Wyden confuses health care with health insurance

Jane Hamsher reports on the Progressive Media Summit:

Wyden: Answering a question about whether we will be moving toward single payer, Wyden says that single payer winds up devolving into an argument with people who are opposed to "too much government." But if you use the term "universal coverage" and you say that for the same amount of money everyone can have the same coverage as members of Congress, it's not so polarizing. So basically, no.

Charleston Gazzette ENDORSES SINGLE PAYER!!!!!

Disgrace: 45 million left out

Why does America's system cost twice as much, yet result in poorer health? This situation is outrageous. The cheapest, best, national insurance format is a Canada-style "single-payer" operation run by the government. We hope that President Obama and the new Democrat-dominated Congress move America swiftly toward that goal.
