Can we afford FISA abuse?

All this talk about how Obama will have to give up doing anything for ordinary people because of the budget crisis got me to thinking, what should we cut? Then I remembered this old post:

The current maladministration is probably spying on 8 million citizens. Now we know that Comcast charges $1,000 set up fee and a monthly charge of $750 to violate your fourth amendment rights. So we can calculate the cost of this part of the destruction of our constitution as (8 million x $1,000) + (8 million x (11 x $750)) = $8 billion. That is $8 billion dollars a year we are borrowing from the Chinese, plus interest, to destroy our constitution. How much nursing home care would $8 billion buy?

No one who voted for FISA abuse can claim to be a fiscal conservative.

the MIC is never cheap, and the nazis had to start

stealing from the Jews pretty early on, to pay for their surveillance/oppression machine too. it gets really bad when they start stealing from each other, which all neofascists and fascists eventually do. now, we speak of what 'health care' and 'education programs' it could buy; eventually it'll be taking a bite out of our food and shelter budgets, if not stopped.

DCB, t/u for posting links to the FISA votes--I'd love a box on

the front page where important vote links could be posted, so we don't forget quite so easily. Or, when we do forget, could get info on them easily.

Something titled like "Remember the Alamo"--well, that isn't too good. But the idea would be a place to collect important votes, with links to explain important permutations (like those times when Lieberman would vote for/against important game changing ammendments, then give himself cover by voting the appropriate Dem way on the yays and nays when it didn't count. Maybe links to Wiki could handle the fine points?

I tend to forget the correct names of bills, such as the bankruptcy abomnation--I do remember Biden voted and worked for it, but have forgotten where some others stood.

Maybe if Congress Critters got the occasional email/fax thanking them for good votes in the past--and chastising them for the baddies--they might realize people do remember. They count on us forgetting by the time elections, especially primaries, roll around, right?

A search line for more votes/legislation; the latest three or four most critical votes/legislation visible in the box--making finding the vote of our state and local CC's readlily available.

Doable? I have no idea how to do such a thing. But I'd love it.

But, thanks for the reminder!
