If you have "no place to go," come here!

Call Hillary at 703-469-2008 and ask: "Will you support a filibuster of any bill that grants retroactive immunity to telecoms?"

Departments:

Surely that's not a hard question to answer?

But apparently, for Hillary, it is. Lord Atrios:

There's no reason for the United States Congress to sanction lawbreaking by the telecom companies and, by extension, the Bush administration. No one looking for the Democratic nomination should communicate ambiguity on this subject.

And Glenn Greenwald:

There is absolutely no reason why [Hillary and Obama] should be unable to answer that question in a clear, straightforward and unconditional manner. What they ought to be doing is leading on this issue -- taking a principled stand for the rule of law and our constitutional liberties and leading the Senate in a filibuster to stop this travesty. But since they are leaving that to Dodd, they ought to at least issue a clear statement as to their positions here.

Be polite!

But even if she did, and even if the effort is successful to have retroactive immunity stripped from the bill (it won't be), what does it actually matter, if the rest of the bill delivers the coup de grace to the 4th Amendment (as it will)?

And got this corporate-like voicemail hell and never did reach a human, after the phone rang forever.

I called Obama's campaign, to congratulate him on clarifying his stance, and was able to tell the nice law school graduate who answered the phone that Obama's next step should be to lay out the concrete steps he would take to restore Constitutional government.

Still, no answer from the Beltway's True Annointed, Hillary. How odd.

Yes, the A-list is critical and may the God(ess)(e)(s) of your choice bless them.

But stuff bubbles up to them from us, precisely because we are not disciplined. It's a layered architecture.
