Books somebody other than me should read

The great Edward Tufte’s 1974 work, Data Analysis for Politics and Policy, PDF files.

Numbers, they scare me. Plus, I’ve got stuff to do. But somebody’s going to find this useful…

I had to learn a fair amount of probability theory back in ye ol’ physics/applied math undergrad days so I’m less than eager to read this. However, if I can get this into e-book format to read on my blackberry, it definitely seems worthwhile.

Fortunately, most of Tufte’s work is a lot more readable than the piece you link. His constant theme is that data, when presented in alternative ways, becomes different information. Truly a subject of importance for anyone interested in politics.
