Pillow Talk
A quick post as I have one foot out the door.
The SNL sketch, "Does He Want a Pillow," which mocked Obama's cozy relationship with the press, will likely make a comeback:
Linda Douglass, an award-winning television and print journalist who currently serves as a contributing editor to National Journal, will join Barack Obama's presidential campaign as a senior strategist and as a senior campaign spokesperson on the roadshow, a newly created position.
Marc Ambinder says he got the scoop by walking upstairs and asking Douglass.
NARAL Endorses Obama [UPDATE]
NARAL, National Abortion Rights Action League, announced that it is endorsing Obama.
Sen. Obama has said, "A woman’s ability to decide how many children to have and when, without interference from the government, is one of the most fundamental rights we possess. It is not just an issue of choice, but equality and opportunity for all women."
Time to Let Go
This morning, The Big Boss (TBB) and I had a conversation about firing someone who works for us on contract. Ever since the guy came on board, he'd seen a mean streak in his work that he just didn’t like and we’ve heard from others who don’t like it either. The guy has his fans but it was clear things weren't going to work out. TBB told me about a particularly nasty e-mail from the guy that he wasn’t going to answer but decided to just go ahead and fire him, because it was better than stewing about it over the weekend.
Who Da King?*
Someone is taking the Village
pundits seriously. Politico:
Obama plans to declare victory May 20
Not long after the polls close in the May 20 Kentucky and Oregon primaries, Barack Obama plans to declare victory in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
And, until at least May 31 and perhaps longer, Hillary Clinton’s campaign plans to dispute it.
It’s a train wreck waiting to happen, with one candidate claiming to be the nominee while the other vigorously denies it, all predicated on an argument over what exactly constitutes the finish line of the primary race.
