The peace of a historic and festive event was shattered Monday when two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people, including an 8-year-old, and injuring at least 130 more.
The near-simultaneous blasts shattered windows and sent runners and onlookers fleeing through curtains of thick gray smoke. Police and emergency personnel rushed to aid casualties lying on the blood-stained pavement.

Paraphrasing Jill Stein from a workshop in NYC 3-23-13:
There are 40 people on one side of a road. There is one person on the other side of the road.
A bread truck pulls up and the driver gives the one person -- standing there alone (perhaps impatiently tapping a Gucci-loafered foot and checking his Rolex) -- 40 LOAVES OF BREAD. Then the driver gives the group of 40 people, in varying states of dress and hunger, ONE LOAF OF BREAD to share among themselves. He drives off.

Did you know that the average yearly salary of fast food employees in NYC is $11,000? Pretty small considering the City’s notorious sky-high rents and cost of living!
Did you know that $25,000 is the average DAILY salary of most fast food industry CEOs? (Over two times what the average NYC fast food worker makes in a year!)

Some people still don’t get that Obama is a pragmatist with a heart of stone. Both domestically and internationally speaking.
Internationally speaking, according to Melkulangara Bhadrakumar, Obama got what he wanted from the trip to Israel when at the very end of it he played catalyst to Turkey's and Israel's “making up” after the killing of nine Turkish nationals by Israeli commandos in the 2010 Turkish flotilla on a humanitarian mission to help the Palestinians of Gaza. Word has it 100 of the 166 inmates of Guantanamo are participating in a hunger strike.
The innocent detainees (“officially” 86 but God only knows how many more) of Guantanamo apparently still think there is a snowball’s chance in hell that if Zero Dark Americans -- especially the deluded “personality over principle” progressives -- really knew the truth of what had and has been happening to them before and during their unending detainments, the colossal abuses they have had to endure (and especially lately that they are enduring) not to mention their colossal and ever escalating despair after 11 LONG YEARS of incarceration without due process -- waiting, waiting, waiting for a not slow-go but really NO-go Obama-Godot, then those Zero Dark Americans would actually give a serious shit. The new Pope Francis is 76 years old. He is the former cardinal of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jorge Mario Bergoglio and now spiritual leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, 40% of whom live in Latin America.
