Via ThinkProgress, G. Gordon Liddy on Sotomayor:

LIDDY: Let’s hope that the key conferences aren’t when she’s menstruating or something, or just before she’s going to menstruate. That would really be bad. Lord knows what we would get then.

Nice. I wonder what former Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and current Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg think about that?

Menstruation jokes! Teh Funny!

I guess after thousands of years of patriarchy, you start to run out of material. I mean has the joke about irrational women on the rag never been told before?

And just a quick education for those who might need it:

Women don't get irrationally upset over nothing when they are PMSing. Our tolerance for the bullshit we deal with everyday plummets, and when we would usually bite our tongues, instead we just let fly.

He who will not reason is a bigot; he who cannot is a fool; and he who dares not is a slave.
- Sir William Drummond

my level of tolerance for pathetic male stupidity in any visible way. It did relieve my chronic anaemia, though ... so the cyclical feeling of hopeless weakness should disappear any moment now, right?

For me it comes down to a combo of arrogance & bullying.

Of course, the ladies can behave this way as well but the menfolk's version has a particular flavor to it. And it's so obvious too. I guess the ladies have to be a little craftier when their behaving like as*holes. So it looks less stupid.

But an as*hole is an as*hole. I've met plenty of women in my business that strut around like they're c*ck o' the yard with nothing to back it up.

even Think Progress will speak up about sexism*.

And good for Think Progress for speaking up about how even though Obama has a few problems (approx. 99) this b*tch ain't one of 'em!**

I might add that it's another plus that she's not married because then she won't be distracted by managing her own 'house'. Lord knows, if you can't manage your man at home, you can hardly manage a seat on the bench.***

I also find the nominee's comportment to be most excellent in the face of criticism. Lord knows it would be tempting to let the claws come out. ****

*when it benefits Obama to do so

**high probability she's already gone through menopause, you IDIOT Liddy, so her cycle will not pose a problem to the functioning of the court

*** This point was well made by the present first lady during the primary.

**** The righteous indignation NOW from most of the left is MEANINGLESS.

Not what's important to the FKD at all. Strictly for entertainment purposes both by Liddy and the oh-so-righteous "progressives."

Ditto the outrage about false charges of racism. Honestly.

have you read the WJC interview coming out this weekend?
He says the racist accusations he can let go of but the Ted and Carolyn Kennedy endorsement is a little tougher...
I don't know if I can read it. Just like I can hardly watch video of Hillary without feeling sadness.
It's not about losing. It's about the disillusionment.

... you could post on it, so I don't forget. (Where is it?)

Bill's a pro. So is Hillary. Forgetting is part of being a pro. I, however, am not a pro.

Ah the same tired arguments we have heard before.

This always makes me wonder what the speaker's home life was like as a child. Did his mother beat him monthly? Did his spinster aunt come to his house mid-cycle and fondle him? Perhaps some female teacher's quizzes were routinely more difficult at certain phases of the moon?

Poor Liddy - to have been so ill used by female authority figures in the past. Perhaps that explains his prior life of crime.

That the Village still listens to folks like him is one of the main reasons I absolutely despise the Village. Really, there is nothing else to say. He doesn't matter, or at least he shouldn't matter.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

At that time? That's when the hormone levels in women are the most like male hormone levels.

So, that means she would think BETTER than the men the rest of the time. Let's get her in there ASAP.

Fear of menstruation, fear of PMS;

fear of menstruation and PMS -- in a 54-year old female.
