Well, I guess we all lost this round.
From the WSJ via TPM:
President Barack Obama said Monday that he would "pursue every single legal avenue to block" $165 million in bonuses to American International Group Inc. employees who were in part responsible for the insurance giant's near collapse. But hours later, administration officials said the payouts made Friday couldn't be extracted from their recipients without a legal fight that would cost the taxpayers even more.
What a difference a day makes. Nice work, guys.
Who is doing Obama's fact checking? Or is this just getting the
"story line" of his "anger" at this "out there" and screw the fact it can't be accomplished? Yeah, his righeous anger is really effective. Good grief. He must have people checking things like this, right?
What is going on?
Mr. Presdient, in case you don't realize it, your trustworthiness and savvy just took a very highly publicized hit.
(And, Pie, my first reaction to seeing the topic line for your comment was that you were talking about this whole four years of an Obama administration. He's getting rolled pretty regularly....)
BTW, I thot I'd posted this, but it didnt take--hope this isn't a double.
Yes, jawbone.
He's not looking too good these days. Not inspiring much confidence, that's for sure.
:(
Why don't we send a sternly worded letter?
It's a lot cheaper, and just as effective!
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi
Visualization of such a letter
Look, he even made a joke about being "choked up with anger!" Hee.
Dare I say it, I wish he was more like Hillary Clinton who wasn't afraid to say and emote, "Shame on you!" last year. But then again, she was slamming Obama and crazily accusing Obama of being two-faced. Crazy!
