Oy, indeed! Totally NSFW.
Haas said that Gayle Haggard knew a whole lot more about what kind of kinky gay Ted activity was going on than she publicly admits to. When Haas asked about her knowledge of these things, Ted told him "yes, she's a freak too", they went to sex toy stores and even molded a dildo together (calling it "Ted Two")
Go read about the part where Haggard offers up his own daughter. This isn't healthy gaii kink, it's deep Closet-induced sickness. Ick. But also: predicatable.

No, safe for work...
... isn't the first thing that springs to mind, no.
Eesh. Wonder what hotel Ted stayed at in DC?

But, it's God's will!
CD, as you well know, Yahweh looks favorably upon those who offer up their own daughters, even to an angry mob:
Haggard refers to child rape as "sex"
From what I've read about his interview on Oprah, he discussed how a man raped him as a little boy (about 7 or so) and quickly defended it, like, "It wasn't violent" and referring to it at as "sex." Instead of realizing the horror of what happened to him, he has internalized it and rationalized it. When someone feels "sexual" contact between an adult and a child is acceptable, then there's nothing holding them back from becoming a child rapist themselves.
OK...
So I had to go read. I am glad I got the edited NSFW version.
The fact that he would think he could offer up his daughter to anyone. Just as bad or worse, into what would be a dead relationship from the get go. GEEBUZZ CRIPES.
Thread sprawl decimates good farm land.
I could see this thing going on forever in the comments section, so let me just try to add one cent (rather than 2).
* I don't like or trust Haas.
Even if all those new stories are true, his fifteen minutes needed to be up 16 minutes ago.
When I was his age, I ran into lots of twisted-by-society (I won't say twisted by the closet because it completely absolves the overculture) "older guys" whose world view was way fucked up in similar ways, and I've personally had conversations similar in mind-bendiness to the ones Haas is now reporting. I knew what society had wrought, I respected their implied trust absolutely.
People can differ on closets, people can differ on outing, etc. but this sh*t Haas is doing is just fundamentally indecent and is what's "beyond the pale". I wish him a swift descent back into oblivion.
Is Haas' explicitness, his inability to commit suicide
before he chose to tell all, or merely his existence the fundamentally indecent thing?
How about Haggard's 15 minutes? Do you wish he could lead that life free of scandal, if only those rent boys and molested teens stayed paid off?
Would New Life have erred if they chose to eliminate Haas through a common auto accident? Supposedly accidental overdose? You seem to show more sympathy with the abusers in this equation -- "I knew what society had wrought, I respected their implied trust absolutely" -- then the people whose lives they twisted into shame.
No, TonyRz, people of character don't differ on outing destructive homophobic hypocrites, not when we've been through nearly 30 years of people dying of AIDS when those hypocrites could have saved that generation of people they deliberately made vulnerable and isolated. Don't make me pull out my SILENCE = DEATH t-shirt....
damn Haas for speaking the truth
If only the victims would just STFU
, there would be so much less unhappiness in the world. Think how much better off the Catholic church would be if they didn't have to deal with those ungrateful little alter boys, who we all know really wanted it. Why blame the priests, who were innocent until they were seduced by the boys? And imagine how crime statistics would improve if rape victims, mugging victims, and robbery victims would just stop reporting what happened to them. As long as we're at it, those people who were so foolish as to get in the way of bullets and knives should all be reported as accidental deaths, or better as suicides. No more crime! No need for police, or criminal courts! Think of the cost savings! (Hey, we could also eliminate electronic records in the criminal justice system! Not that we ever needed them; quill pens and parchment worked just fine.)
Yep, it is all the damn victim's fault. Loudmouth rabble.
[Just to be clear, for the irony impaired - the above is snark. I think what TonyRZ has written is absolute total fucking idiocy, utterly reprehensible, and should be condemned by all.]
Past tense? Did he off himself?
Because that would be the only gift he could give his kid(s) now. Jerk.
