C'mon, this is America
We don't even know what "hiatus" means. Is it French?
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi
I love you
because I got to geek out (i.e. pull out the good old Oxford English Dictionary):
Hiatus (with the meaning of a gap or interruption) was first used in 1613 by Jackson in Creed: "To Forwarne the Reader of the hiatus in our aduersaries collections."
(Yes I did just use that as an excuse to go reading through the OED. I *am* that big of a geek.)

Wait, so should I speak
Spainish? Or 'Merican?
Both? Which do you all prefer? ;)

I love the OED
I used to have the one with the magnifying glass!

I have the 2 volume
set. No magnifying glass. Should probably get around to getting one of those.
(Best birthday present EVER)

Rallies in the Snow?!
I'm jealous. :) That said, there are some prelim. rumblings of a Michigan march on Washington if the Congress continues to dwadle on requested emergency auto loans, so you may be seeing some pretty large protest and rallies right across the border, too.
I am serious, and I approve this message.
I wish!
No snow here in Vancouver. And the rally in Ottawa didn't look all that snowy, but there are going to be ongoing ones. Apparently every Friday at 5:30 in Calgary. I just saw on CBC's The National that an entire town in Newfoundland is in danger because a paper and pulp mill is closing. Too bad the Tories don't understand the truth behind the sign.
I was wondering about MI. My friend's husband works in a factory in IN and they're really worried about his job.
