You've got to be kidding me.

CONCORD, N.H. - You might not expect the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee to go around buying lottery tickets, but Sen. Judd Gregg is glad he did.
On a whim prompted by the frenzy over Wednesday's $340 million Powerball jackpot, the New Hampshire Republican bought a ticket that matched five of the six numbers in the Powerball game.

He collected a $853,492 check Thursday.

Only a Republican millionaire Senator would be greedy enough to buy a lottery ticket, huh? I can think of tens of millions of Americans who could use that money before I got to Judd Gregg.

He needed that extra $800,000 like he needed a hole in the head.

Well, come to think of it, since's he's a Republican he's already got one of those.
