That uptick in gun sales? Was Dr. George Tiller killed by a new gun or older, purchased or stolen?

Tiller was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim.

“George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God. I am more concerned that the Obama Administration will use Tiller’s killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions." -- Randall Terry

This is why there can be no "middle of the road" on abortion. These people honestly believe it's the murdering of babies and that women and girls are not people. Bigotry plus protection of innocents being "slaughtered" equals extremely violent opposition. By constantly reinforcing the idea that abortion is a "morally" weighty issue in which we must ensure that the women and girls who choose this procedure prove their morality by seeking male and religious counsel, we only entrench the idea that the fetus is a child (abortion is murder) and women and girls aren't really morally fit to be granted basic human rights.

This violent opposition will only ratchet up during times of economic crisis. Especially when right-wing talk radio industry is eager to exploit it and the MSM refuses to do basic journalism, instead preferring to distort reality to keep the status quo alive and well.

To answer Lambert's question: check out this actually good Daily Kos post on the rise of domestic, right-wing terrorism.
